Background & Experience

Alan began his career in public accounting in 1987. Over the years he has served many different clients including credit unions, professional practices, manufacturers and other closely held businesses. Alan’s primary area of expertise is accounting and auditing. He works with a variety of clients in multiple industries and has extensive experience working with governments such as counties, towns, cities, school districts and state agencies.

While many of Alan’s clients are large entities with hundreds of employees and multimillion-dollar budgets, Alan enjoys establishing relationships with the people behind his clients and helping them find solutions. Alan sees his role as an advisor and strives to go beyond compliance issues to give value added advice.

Prior to joining Bonadio in 2008, Alan was a shareholder with Dorfman-Robbie, CPAs, a regional firm in Albany where he was Director of Continuing Professional Education, as well as head of the Firm’s Government services practice. In his role as CPE Director, Alan enjoyed helping to develop new staff members to assume ever-increasing responsibilities. Dorfman-Robbie, CPAs merged with Bonadio in 2008.

Alan lives in Clifton Park and has two daughters, Elizabeth and Caroline. Some interesting things about Alan are:
