“The top challenge faced by our clients is using their information technology systems to obtain the information needed to maintain profitability while complying with laws and regulations.”
Background & Experience
Don has been with Bonadio since 2000, and is currently the partner in charge of our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, specializing in providing ERM and information technology consulting services to publicly held companies, large and middle market commercial companies, and not-for-profit organizations.
During his tenure, Don developed the Firm’s internal audit and internal control assessment, remediation, and documentation capabilities, including developing programs and services for responding to Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 needs. In this capacity, he has organized and led SOX 404 engagements nationally and internationally. Beyond SOX 404, Don leads the Firm’s enterprise risk management initiatives, developing and organizing firm capabilities in areas ranging from forensic accounting to information technology audits.
Don’s public accounting career includes stints with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he ultimately became the director of the Upstate New York Enterprise Consulting Group. In that role, he worked with numerous start up companies, helping them to develop business plans, raise capital, and establish operations, as well as assisting clients with acquisitions and operational reviews.
In addition to the world of public accounting, Don previously served as President, CEO and shareholder of Professional Medical Supply, Inc. (PMS), a company that grew significantly and rose to number 34 on “the Rochester Top 100” list of privately held companies before being acquired by a $500 million public company.
