Background & Experience

Jerry is one of the founding partners of Bonadio and a key architect of the Firm’s growth and success. He is the partner in charge of our Tax-Exempt/Healthcare Team East and specializes in the business and accounting needs of tax-exempt, government, and healthcare clients. He has provided accounting, audit, strategic and business planning, operational planning, and a vast array of other services to more than 200 tax-exempt, municipal, and healthcare organizations during his career.

Throughout New York State, Jerry has earned a reputation as the "Dean" of not-for-profit/tax exempt consultants. He is widely known for his innovations and advice in Board structure and governance, benchmarking of best practices, maximizing funding streams, and for his public commentary and stands on issues of importance to the tax-exempt community. Jerry is a much sought after speaker and author of a monthly column in the Rochester and Central New York Business Journals.

He is also one the Firm’s key mentors and trainers, with a particular interest in developing younger staff to assume ever increasing roles and responsibilities within the Firm. Close to a third of Bonadio’s partners have at one time or another worked for Jerry, and he continues to foster and infuse Bonadio staff with a spirit of enthusiasm, accountability, professionalism, and dedication to our & More philosophy.

Before joining Bonadio in 1986, Jerry began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he spent 12 years.

Jerry and his wife Betsy have two children, William and Julie. Some of the places you may find Jerry in his free time are:

at the game...he is a season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bills, Rochester Red Wings, and Rochester Americans

on the slopes, rinks, ranges and courts...he enjoys downhill and cross country skiing, ice-skating, golf and tennis

at the oldies shows…he collects and sells antiques and is President of Archie’s Antiques and Collectibles
