Background & Experience

Lauren has been with Bonadio since 1999 and works with businesses that have 1 to 1,000 employees. She thrives on bringing her clients more than payroll processing services, going the extra step and assisting them to better understand labor and payroll laws.

Lauren’s experience includes owning her own payroll processing company with her late husband Jeff Burns. With her past experience and CPA licensing, Lauren brings a unique perspective to her clients. She is committed to providing the very best service to them and works with a multitude of industries, both in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Her consultative approach ensures her clients stay in compliance with payroll laws and take advantage of any payroll related tax savings.

She has assisted clients on a variety of concerns that go well beyond typical payroll processing services such as determining employee vs. subcontractor status, when it is best to put a POP (Premium Only Plan) in place to save both employer and employee tax dollars, and suggestions for improving processes.

Prior to Lauren’s experience in the payroll industry, she served as CFO for an investment company.

Lauren lives in Penfield with her son Adam. Some interesting things about Lauren include:

she’s a comedian…her favorite TV Show is ‘I Love Lucy” which motivates her to spice up semi-annual firm meetings with her Lucy-like sense of humor and costumed presentations

she burns new trails…she is a percussionist and was the first female percussionist in her grade school and high school
