The Bonadio Group celebrates its first Purpose Day on Thursday, Aug. 2, with hundreds of employees from every office dedicating their time and talent to 12 non-profits in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. Instead of reporting to their offices for the day, employees will pitch in at more than two dozen sites across these communities. A picnic celebration will follow, providing employees with the opportunity to share their experiences with co-workers. All volunteers will have an extended weekend with the day off on Friday, Aug. 3.

“We encourage employees to collaborate and give back year-round—Purpose Day harnesses the collective strength of our teams in a single day,” said Thomas Bonadio, CEO of The Bonadio Group. “Every office is represented on Purpose Day, working together across so many cities and worksites as we celebrate and share our talents with the communities where we operate.”

Bonadio people will work in these locations across Upstate New York:

Albany (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • AIM Services Inc. (Gansevoort and Saratoga Springs)
  • Catholic Charities (Albany)
  • Rensselaer NYSARC (Troy)
  • Saratoga Bridges (Saratoga Springs)

Buffalo (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

  • Gateway Longview (Williamsville)

Rochester (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • Epilepsy Pralid
  • Heritage Christian Services
  • Ibero American Action League
  • Lifetime Assistance

Syracuse (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • ARISE at the Farm (Chittenango)
  • Rescue Mission Alliance (Liverpool)

Purpose Day activities range from reading and art and crafts with children at Gateway Longview in Williamsville, to building a shed, mulching, and other outside clean-up and maintenance. At Catholic Charities in Albany, volunteers will harvest a garden, then serve a meal to guests. The Bonadio Group’s employees sign up online for the location and activity they prefer, ensuring there are resources available at all volunteer sites.
