The PROMISE Connection: Importance of Employee Recognition

February 28th, 2023

Recognition is very important from a young age. As children, we become motivated and develop confidence when we receive recognition and positive feedback from respected people in our lives, such as our parents and teachers. As we transition into the workplace, the importance of recognition remains—in this case, with job satisfaction and professional growth.

According to Great Place to Work, employee recognition helps to retain top talent, increase employee engagement, and encourage high performance. Recognized employees are typically more satisfied, perform better and are more productive. In fact, research shows that 55% of employees who planned to switch jobs cited lack of recognition as their number one culprit.

Recognizing Our People at TBG

At The Bonadio Group (TBG), we value the importance of recognition and are dedicated to showing appreciation to our People on a regular basis. Recognition is given when employees embody the firm’s values, contribute to a positive work environment, support one another, provide innovative ideas and deliver exceptional customer service.

Here at TBG, we commit to a set of core values, and celebrate employees’ achievements and accolades that align with these values. Our PROMISE Values are as follows:

  1. People
  2. Respect
  3. Opportunity
  4. Maintaining Balance
  5. Integrity
  6. Service & More
  7. Entrepreneurship

We want all our People to feel valued and appreciated for the work we do, and providing meaningful recognition is a powerful way of expressing our appreciation for hard work, efforts and results. Furthermore, aligning these recognitions to our core values helps each of us see purpose in our work and reinforces our contributions to the firm.

The PROMISE Connection

Earlier this year, we furthered our commitment to employee recognition by introducing a new and improved employee recognition platform to build upon our existing PROMISE Connection model. This new platform allows our people to shine a spotlight on their colleagues’ outstanding performance and everyday excellence, with improved functionality, ease of use and mobile accessibility.

Our platform is unique in that employees can provide their peers with Social OR Points-Based Recognitions. Social recognitions are a great way to say thank you for a job well done and appreciating everyday behaviors. Points-Based Recognitions can be used to recognize results and outcomes, connect the results to the firm’s success and encourage repeated behaviors. All accumulated points can be spent on gift cards, travel experiences, or merchandise, all of which are updated daily to keep up with our ever-evolving environments.

Katie Covert, Human Resources Program Manager, has played an integral part in launching the updated PROMISE Connection.

“I know what it’s like to work to my highest potential and feel like nobody is noticing. I’ve found that recognition has the power to steer us away from employee burnout by reminding us that our efforts matter and are truly appreciated,” said Katie.

This is just one way our firm is working to support an employee experience that is second to none. If you are interested in learning more about TBG, visit our Careers pages today and check out our current openings!
