Community, Inclusion & More: TBG’s Culture Committee in Action

November 27th, 2024

At The Bonadio Group (TBG), fostering a strong, inclusive, and vibrant culture is more than just a priority—it’s a cornerstone of who we are. To bring this vision to life, our Culture Committee leads the charge through four dynamic subcommittees: Community, DE&I, Social, and Wellness. Together, these teams organize events, initiatives, and opportunities that connect employees across regions, promote health and inclusivity, and make a meaningful impact in our communities (all while having a little fun).

Here’s how these groups are shaping our culture and strengthening our connections firmwide:

Community: Giving Back Together

At TBG, we believe in the power of giving back to the communities that support us. The Community Committee leads this charge by organizing meaningful initiatives that encourage volunteerism, charitable giving, and engagement with local organizations.

From coordinating donation drives to creating hands-on opportunities to serve, the group ensures employees can make a tangible difference. They also empower individual giving by connecting employees with resources, including grants through the Bonadio Foundation, to support causes they are passionate about.

“I have always enjoyed working with volunteer organizations, and seeing the impact TBG makes is incredibly rewarding,” shared James Farr, Community Committee Chair. “From food donations to supporting children in need, our team truly embodies the spirit of giving.”

Through these ongoing efforts, the Community Committee inspires employees to live out our firm’s values of compassion, service, and connection.

DE&I: Promoting Equity and Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) is central to our workplace culture. The DE&I Committee works tirelessly to ensure every employee feels valued and empowered to succeed, creating a workplace that celebrates differences and fosters belonging.

By hosting educational workshops, facilitating open conversations, and promoting cultural celebrations, the DE&I team drives meaningful change and encourages employees to expand their perspectives. They also provide leadership opportunities for employees to champion DE&I efforts within their teams and communities.

As Tamara Slater, DE&I Alliance Co-Chair, explains: “DE&I is important because it educates us on the challenges others face and helps us spread awareness beyond our firm. By fostering understanding, we can create lasting change in the workplace and beyond.”

This subcommittee’s efforts underscore our commitment to equity and inclusion—not just as an ideal, but as an actionable and sustainable part of our culture.

Social: Building Bonds Across Teams

A thriving workplace is one where employees feel connected and appreciated. The Social Committee takes the lead in creating opportunities for team bonding, relaxation, and celebration.

With a mix of creative team-building events, inclusive celebrations, and casual gatherings, this group ensures employees have space to connect beyond their daily responsibilities. From office trivia nights to remote-friendly activities, the Social Committee helps bridge gaps and build relationships that transcend roles and locations.

“Social activities allow us to step away from our work and connect with one another on a personal level,” said Ashley Kenyon, Social Committee Chair. “These moments strengthen our relationships and remind us why we enjoy working together.”

By fostering an environment of camaraderie and mutual appreciation, the Social Committee helps create a sense of belonging that enhances both employee satisfaction and teamwork.

Wellness: Prioritizing Employee Health

Wellness isn’t just about physical health—it’s about creating balance and supporting the mental and emotional well-being of employees. The Wellness Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees have the tools and resources they need to prioritize their well-being.

From hosting wellness workshops and fitness challenges to offering stress management resources and tips for work-life balance, this team creates a supportive culture that values holistic health.

Joleen Bruyette, Wellness Committee Chair, shares her perspective: “Wellness plays a very important role in all of our lives. We are better and can work better when we are mentally and physically well.”

By encouraging employees to focus on their health, the Wellness Committee helps foster a more energized, productive, and resilient workforce.

A Culture of Connection and Impact

Our Culture Committee’s initiatives go beyond events—they’re a reflection of our mission and values. Whether through volunteering, celebrating diversity, forging personal connections, or supporting well-being, these efforts enhance the employee experience and strengthen our firmwide culture.
