Rochester, N.Y., June 2, 2020 – For the fifth year, The Bonadio Group has been designated a Best Accounting Firm for Women as well as a Best Accounting Firm for Equity Leadership by the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) as part of the Accounting MOVE Project. The firm was commended for maintaining its focus on advancing women with 40 percent women partners and principals.

“The contributions and perspectives of our female leaders and partners are invaluable to our firm,” said Bruce Zicari, CEO, The Bonadio Group. “At every level, we strive to support women in the accounting industry and provide the resources necessary to foster their career growth.”

The Bonadio Group also excels at pay equity accountability, with all hiring managers required to confirm that compensation aligns with the firm’s equity policies.

“We’re proud to have once again earned this recognition and to have advanced our firm’s gender equity further with an increased percentage of women leaders over the past year,” said Kristen Clark, Managing Partner in Bonadio’s Syracuse Office and member of the firm’s Management Committee. “The Bonadio Group is committed to implementing initiatives that drive growth and success among all our people including customized performance management, our training program Bonadio University, and benefits promoting an overall sense of wellness and employee recognition.”

According to the findings of the 2020 Accounting MOVE Project report, women are leading accounting and advisory firms’ ventures into new lines of business with unconventional perspectives and new approaches.

“The findings of this year’s report solidifies that women are extending positive change into the financial workforce by creating new initiatives and client retention with creativity and leadership,” said Cindy Stanley, executive director for the AFWA. “The unique perspectives and reliability of women in finance will continue to create new streams of opportunity and pave the way for progress.”

The Best CPA Firms for Women list is based on each year’s MOVE results. To earn a spot on the list, an employer must have both a proportionate number of women at most or all levels of management and proven success with the MOVE factors. The Best CPA Firms for Equity Leadership list is also based on MOVE survey results and recognizes firms with at least 30 percent women partners and principals, as roughly a third is widely recognized as the tipping point for members of any identity group to have individual impact. The Equity Leadership list recognizes firms that have achieved that milestone through any combination of culture, programs, initiatives, and growth.
