- In the last year, President Trump has issued a number of Executive Orders, including Orders targeting federal programs that have supported and encouraged DEI-related practices in the workplace, including in higher education. Harter, Secrest & Emery LLP attorney Anna McCarthy will discuss the considerations universities should have in mind and how they can react to this reshaped legal landscape.
- The transformative potential of AI and the inherent risks that come with its adoption, including an overview of emerging state and federal regulations. We’ll examine the rising prevalence of cyber threats such as ransomware, phishing, and AI-driven scams and discuss real-world applications of AI, from diagnostic support and predictive analytics to virtual assistants. The session will also highlight the critical importance of strong security practices, including encryption, access controls, risk assessments, and effective vendor management.
