TBG and Rochester Community Rally to Support the 105th PGA Championship

April 27th, 2023

This May, the PGA Championship will return to Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY for the fourth time. Hosting for the first time in 1980, again in 2003, and most recently, in 2013, Rochester, NY, and Oak Hill Country Club have a long history of supporting the PGA Championship.

While Rochester, NY, may not have any major professional sporting teams like many of its neighboring cities, it is home to a substantial golf community making this event even more special to locals.

According to The Greater Rochester Enterprise, the 105th PGA Championship is projected to draw more than 225,000 spectators, 156 of the world’s most talented golfers along with their support teams and families, hundreds of national and international media representatives, as well as PGA officials and staff from all over the country.

With the growing popularity of golf over the past few decades, the PGA Championship is a great opportunity to promote the Greater Rochester Region on a national level. In fact, in 2003 there was only 10 hours of television coverage – now, in 2023, there is set to be over 100 hours!

Bruce Zicari, Managing Partner and CEO of TBG, and PGA Championship Executive Committee Member, shares his excitement and pride for the upcoming event. “It’s so amazing to see the Rochester community rally together to support an event that will be seen around the world,” said Bruce.

“The PGA Championship is a hallmark event in Rochester, and we are so excited to be attending as a corporate sponsor. As a member of the Rochester community, TBG has an obligation to support this great event. It’s truly a great opportunity for our firm as well as our city.”

Bruce went on to share that this event is an amazing opportunity to show gratitude for TBG’s clients and employees. TBG will be attending the PGA Championship in a private corporate hospitality chalet, and to show our appreciation, we will be hosting clients and some new hires.

“Not only is this event a way for our firm to increase its brand awareness, but it’s a way to show appreciation to and spend quality time with our People and our valued clients in a great atmosphere,” added Bruce.
