To determine the ranking, CE asked hundreds of US accounting firms with a construction practice to complete a survey. Data collected included 2025 construction practice revenue, the number of CPAs in the construction practice, the percentage of the firm’s total revenue from the construction practice, the number of construction clients in 2026, the number of office locations with a construction accounting practice, the number of employees with a CCIFP certification, and the year the firm’s construction accounting practice was established. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted these factors in descending order of importance.
This ranking comes just a few weeks ahead of the 2026 Construction Financial Management Conference, where The Bonadio Group will be on-site to connect with industry professionals and discuss the current challenges businesses are facing in the space. The conference, hosted by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), is taking place October 28-30 in Las Vegas.
