Jeffrey Lewis CPA - Partner

Background & Expertise

Jeff is the partner in charge of the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services and Private Equity teams, and is also an active member of the firm’s Privately Held Companies team. With over 20 years of experience, he advises clients in M&A activities and accessing capital, and provides accounting and consulting services to providers of private capital and their portfolio companies, as well as other privately held companies.

Jeff spent the early portion of his career conducting financial statement audits and reviews and providing a wide range of consulting services to private companies in Upstate New York. He then became the controller of a high-technology start-up company, where he assisted in developing business plans, preparing offering memoranda, and obtaining the capital necessary to grow the company, while at the same time managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. He then returned to the Firm to pursue these types of activities on behalf of the firm’s clients.

In addition to his investment banking and private equity expertise, Jeff provides accounting and consulting services for a wide variety of privately held clients in the manufacturing, distribution, software, high-technology and professional service industries. In this role, he tends to focus on those middle-market clients that have a need for his investment banking and private equity background.

Jeff is an advisor to the general partners of Impact Capital of New York, an Upstate New York-based venture capital firm, and also serves as the outsourced CFO to one of their portfolio companies.

Jeff received his B.S. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in accounting from SUNY Geneseo. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is the Treasurer of the board for the Upstate Capital Association of New York and a past board member and/or treasurer of a number of non-profit organizations including Penfield Little League, Flower City Habitat for Humanity and R Community Bikes. He was also a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award.
